Hearing aid earmould is tailor-made from an impression taken from the ear of the hearing aid user. The earmould helps transmit sounds from a behind-the-ear type hearing aid into the ear canal and prevent feedback and leakage of sound. Hearing aid earmould also helps secure the position of hearing aid on the ear.

Hearing aid earmould can be made of hard acrylic material and soft silicone material. Hard earmould is suitable for adults with mild to severe hearing loss whereas soft earmould is suitable for children and adults with severe to profound hearing loss.
