Tips for successful fitting

The success of hearing aid fitting is related to the professional advice obtained from an Audiologist. Besides, you should have a realistic expectation that you need time to adapt to the sound quality and operations of the hearing aid. The following tips help you easily adapt to the use of a hearing aid in the first 5 days of fitting.

Tip 1: Pattern of use

Day 1

:

Wear the hearing aid for 2 hours.

Day 2
:
Wear the hearing aid for 3 hours

Day 3

:

Wear the hearing aid for 4 hours.

Day 4 and 5
:
If you wear hearing aid for 5 to 6 consecutive hours without any discomfort, it is a good indication that you start to adapt to your hearing aid.

Tip 2: Listen in quiet environment

You should use your hearing aid in quiet environments in the first 3 days of fitting. You should adjust the volume control to a level comfortable to you and try to listen to your own voice and talk with other people. It is normal that you will miss some words in the beginning and this problem will gradually disappear.

Tip 3: Listen to other sounds

You should use your hearing aid in quiet environments in the first 3 days of fitting. You should adjust the volume control to a level comfortable to you and try to listen to your own voice and talk with other people. It is normal that you will miss some words in the beginning and this problem will gradually disappear.

Reminder

-

Put off your hearing aid and take a rest if you notice any discomfort, such as fullness of ear, dizziness, headache and so on.

-
If you repeatedly hear high pitch sounds, check if the hearing aid or earmould fits well in the ear and try to reduce the volume.

-

If you have any problems that you cannot solve, consult your Audiologist.
