Objective tinnitus

Caused by sounds generated somewhere in the body.

For example, turbulent flow of blood in constricted vessels, spontaneous contractions of middle ear muscles or palatal myoclonus, temporomandibular joint disorders, arteriovenous malformation, glomus tumors or aneurysms, patulous eustachian tube.

Subjective tinnitus Listen to noises of tinnitus

Caused by abnormal activity of the hair cells, auditory nerve, central nervous system (CNS), stress, wax impaction, eardrum perforation, ear infections, otosclerosis, barotraumas, noise exposure, Meniere¡¦s disease, acoustic neuroma, nasopharyngeal pathology or chemotherapy.

It is also related to medical syndromes like anemia, allergies, diabetes, low blood sugar, migraine or hypertension.
